The following is a link to a short film I created with Nina Cowley. It is based loosely on James Joyce's Araby. We filmed the movie in black and white, with blue being the only color that shows through. This is supposed to symbolize the people and objects throughout the movie that cause the narrator sadness. Additionally, the final shot is filmed in color to show the coming-of-age transition the narrator has undergone.
We used music by Sufjan Stevens, The Beach Boys, Vampire Weekend, and The Rolling Stones to add to the tone of the movie.
To create the movie we used a variety of Mac programs including: iMovie, iPhoto, and GarageBand.
